Erin Crysdale

Artist member since 2023
toronto , Ontario

Erin's paintings explore how something personal is in fact a universal experience and is what links us to the best parts of humanity. Her magical realist style merges narrative with dream like imagery conjuring up feelings of joy, solitude and at times loneliness. Erin's goal is to paint an image that you can look at for a lifetime without losing meaning or pleasure.

Why is art important to you?

At minimum, art provides a pause to the craziness of life. It makes you stop doing what you're doing, stop thinking what you're thinking, and the best of art can make you cry spontaneously or gasp in amazement. It's one soul, talking to another soul through paint, music, photography, pencil etc. MAGIC
